Mema’s rqmblings

Goodness gracious, sakes a live, I was born in 1934 (you can practice
your math) and I have not figured out my purpose in life and don’t know what I
should be doing to achieve that goal. My
plan was to figure out my purpose, go to college and then have a wonderful
life.
Too bad that I hit all
those detours and speed bumps in my life highway. Every time that I thought I was getting it
all put together, here comes another detour.
I have achieved one life goal in the past 83 years, as a child when I
would get angry with life, I would say, “when I grow up I am going to buy a
house with a large yard and fill it with animals, they are nice to me”. I have
that life: 10 dogs, 2 pygmy goats, a 36 year old horse, 2 cats and whatever
someone drops off near my house. All the
animals are rescues and most of them were thought not to have much time left in
their lifeline but they want to punish me so are living beyond the normal life
span.
When I review the life
that has been mine, I do see a few other accomplishments, but I still have much
to achieve so I have to be busy every day, every hour, every minute. Marking off
all that bucket list is a pleasant chore. Many years ago, I found that I had a
problem dealing with those little details in my life such as; how to get where
I am going, I have a problem concentrating on the route to get to my destination,
because I have such curiosity about what is on the roadside or what is playing
in my head. I can get lost going 6 blocks. I thought this was a really big
problem before such things as google map.
I did find some very interesting things on my way to where I was
going. I took Dale Carnegie classes but
it did not solve my problem, I just learned from the others in the class, so
much new stuff and had to expand my imagination/creative spirit.
Much to my
disadvantage, I always thought it was such a waste of my time to write notes or
directions, much better now that I have a little app on my phone that says: ”memo”.
My oh my, am I ever happy that I have had the privilege of living during the electronic
age, it makes life so much more fun. Just
the act of using “backspace” instead of correction tape, a great thing for
those little things that used to annoy me, since it was such a time waster,
using that correction tape or liquid, many of my papers in college went out
with misspellings, etc.
I was a B and C student
in college and Nursing school, that did not bother me because, I knew about real
learning, even then. I am a life long learner and try to learn at least one new
thing every day. Otherwise how would I know that, May 5 is, Naked Gardening
Day, how I would have missed that little bit of knowledge.
The sun has appeared,
so I better get busy leaning new things, I have already taken care of all my
animals needs so must finish my cup of coffee and get busy learning and
learning……
