Just ranting

I am in need of a time for ranting! As I see the news, I am disturbed about what people see as important.  In one article a family is crying about the late delivery of things they ordered for gifts, boohoo, on tv crying and getting publicity.  The next article was about a family's home being destroyed by fire and no insurance, now that is something to cry about.  The very next report was about a reality tv show; the people on the show wanted to say anything they wanted without any thought of the net work who is paying them, a whole lot of threats to the network from the public; anyone with any extra time to do such things, need to "get a life" and seek out what is really important and it is not "Reality TV".
Really thoughtful people will think of what they can do and say that  will make a positive impact on the life of someone. Part of the problem is the media, part is that people love their 15 minutes of fame and the worst part of it is that a large part of our population is so self centered and care only for themselves.
I was encouraged when I saw the CNN Heros  and also see what is being done in the Clinton Global initiative and wish I could meet and visit with those people.

Fun with my imagination

Because of the snow and ice, I need to explore my imagination and it came to me when I took my shower that, since I will not be near a human being, why should I shower and my mind wondered.  I must admit that I feel a bit refreshed after the hot shower using my structured water but....
When did Eve say to Adam, "no more sex unless you take a shower". or Adam say, "I can't kiss you unless you brush and floss".  When did our ancestors start this cleanliness business?  I know that my grandpa never brushed or flossed excepting with a twig from the peach tree.  He died at a very old age and still had every tooth and no cavities, so does it make sense for us to spend so much time doing the unnatural processes such as brushing, flossing, shampooing etc... We are always told that it is healthy, but is it?  I don't see any real research telling me that if I did not shampoo, I would loose 20 years of my life. Eve probably told Adam that she would shampoo when she found a nice hot springs.  Have you figured out how many productive hours you loose just by shampooing, flossing, brushing, etc.?
As you see, I really have a problem with being house bound for a week.  I have been learning via computer and my Kindle and have been listening to all of Dr. Mercola's Expert Interviews on www.youtube.com.  I am a close friend of www.amazon.com, www.youtube.com, Google and of course my 14 four legged, furry children.
I have also been contacting experts about being a speaker at the Holistic Wellness Conference.  Did you know that a nationally known wellness expert will charge $10,000 a day!!! I should have become an expert in something, instead of being a one thing expert, I know a lot about a lot of stuff but would not consider myself an expert.  However, I could tell you exactly what each of these experts would say at the conference.  I read a lot and listen a lot and research a lot......At the age of 79, I have had lots of time to read, listen and learn. I, of course, would have had a lot more time if I had not wasted it, bathing, shampooing, flossing and brushing.

I just had my first Holistic Wellness Lifesaver Conference in Northwest Arkansas.  In my eyes it was a success; lots of good energy, great speakers, really good exhibitors and really energetic attendees.  It does not matter the modality of healing each it their own way expressed the idea that you attract what you want; if you are positive you attract positive things in your life and if you are living in a negative world you attract negative things in your life. In others words "You paint your own rainbows".  I wanted 200 participants but I did not get that many, but I had just the right amount to have good traffic throughout the rooms and with many more, it would have been too crowded to get that positive energy that was in abundance. I am really tired but it is a very happy tired. I worked hard and I worked my daughters hard but we had a good time and hopefully afforded others a great weekend.
Even if I am 78 years old, I hope to do this over and over and over....

I am woman!

From what I hear, Helen Reddy is coming back and that song: "I am Woman" is ringing in my head.  The part where it says, "I am invincible," and I keep singing it to my animals.  They think I am great so I can sing anything I want.  The conference is probably not going to be the full 200 but even though I am a bit disappointed, I continue to think it will be so great!...

The Dash Movie

The Dash Movie: Life works in strange ways. Joseph Epstein once said, "We do not choose to be born. We do not choose our parents, or the country of birth. We do not, most of us, choose to die; nor do we choose the time and conditions of our death. But within this realm of choicelessness, we do choose how we live."

Learning new things

This week I decided that I needed to find a way for my Spanish speaking friends to read my information so I ask Google and I was directed to a site that would translate my documents into Spanish.  I did have a document translated and will give it to a few of my friends and see how they like it and how much they can learn from it. It is amazing what you can learn by just 'asking Google'. I am so grateful that I have lived in the age of the computer.
I published a new book this week and will purchase copies to sign and sell at the Conference. I really do enjoy the process of publishing the book, building the cover and uploading the information.  I think I will teach a class on the process next year, if people have an interest in publishing material.  But, I am just figuring out that most people do not have the same passion I do for learning new things.  I absolutely love learning.  I am starting on my new Spanish CDs tonight, because if I move to Central America, I need to know some Spanish.

Still trying to get people to come to the Conference

Holistic Wellness Conference

I made the big plunge and  rented space for my conference. I stepped out on a limb and made myself responsible for the charges for the space and lunch for 200 people.  The Holistic Wellness Lifesaver Conference will be at the DoubleTree Suites in Bentonville, AR July 26 and 27.  I am excited but a bit apprehensive about the money.  I am meeting lots of new and very interesting people. I hope that when the conference is over we will have a great networking group; people who are passionate about holistic wellness.

Dreaming again

Last Weekend when I attended a conference, I decided that I could do a much better job, they were so unorganized and it was so poorly done that I think I will plan one here and it will be done correct.
My classes are doing well but I need more challenges.  I will check out the availability of space and cost of course, then I can start making further plans.  I already have an outline for the programs and have written down a list of people that I want to involve in the production and planning.

Going on vacation

I am going on vacation, going to Arizona, specifically Phoenix and Sedona.  We are going to do a couple of things in the Phoenix area: Eat at Dr. Weil's restaurant, go to a Sprouts store, go to a baseball game and fly in and out.  We are driving up to Sedona and I am going to really enjoy new energy.  We are going on stand by tickets and are going to try for Easter morning.
Teaching my new classes about holistic wellness is fun and I am very well at this time.  Most people @ 78 years old, do not have ultimate wellness as I do and I am so grateful. I am also very grateful for friends and family.  I have developed a new family @ Soul's Harbor men's homeless mission.  I really do feel very needed by those 20 men and I do feel that I have a positive influence in their lives.
One of my new resolves is to write on my blog more often and I am also going to promote my new book, I published in January.  I am in the middle of publishing the next one too.
See you soon,   Mema

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

Today was spent setting up a classroom for teaching my wellness classes, not an ideal room but all I can afford at this time, I will start next Wednesday, I am also starting to set up "Easy TaiChi/Gi gong"  classes @ another location. I will have space to do life coaching.  My new rack cards came yesterday and I need to place them in businesses in Bentonville.
In order to tell you how difficult it is to write this blog;  I am sitting on the couch with my laptop and eleven dogs who are all trying to sit on or near me.  Needless it is not an easy job but I am not in need of love.
I am going to watch the replay of the earthing/grounding webinar tonight, I did order an earthing sheet,

funeral for my friend John

I think that people need help planning funerals, if you are going to have a funeral at least make it a celebration and make it personal. I don't want a funeral, I want all my friends (hopefully more than 4) to plan to go for a meal and make it a banquet, eat well and visit. Hope you can all say pleasant things about me and celebrate my life. Just don't come if you don't have anything good to say.
