That beautiful snow turned into a big yard of mud. At least my hose thawed so I was able to get water to the live stock in the afternoon.
I spent a lot of time writing yesterday and listened to some very informative interviews. Dr. Stephen Sinatra is a cardiologist that I just love and he was interviewed on tv so I got to hear it. He is one physician that I can totally believe in. New friend on facebook that used to be my neighbor about 30 years ago. Her house was the one with a great basement so always visited her when we had tornado warnings. I did enjoy a few cups of coffee with her. So much has happened in our lives.
Gotta mop the house today because those 80 little paws carry lots of mud.

I worked a lot more on my book: Mema's Ramblings on being well. I talked to two publishers via phone, one better than the other because it would not cost me anything. I think I have about 2,000 more words to write because it is not going to be too long for anyone to read. I also worked on my reflexology class and wellness coaching class. The healing with Qigong takes lots of time and patience.
Was happy that Adelaide's parents got home, a lot less work here.
More snow last night so gotta carry water to the livestock. The two westies love to bark at my cats so have to go wrangle some dogs and cats.

Tuesday, December 29, 2009

It looks positive for sun today and that makes me happy, still looking forward to the thawing of my hose to the barn yard.
Did lots of work on my book yesterday and listened to an interview with David Wolfe on minerals that I really enjoyed and learned a lot of new stuff. I also got my next group of lessons on Qigong and watched the videos last night, have not practiced with them yet. Lots of information on healing.
I will send Adelaide home today and that will be a relief, also less wash to do every day. Don't know when Barky's parents will be home, soon I hope and will have Abby and Zoe a few more days.
Got a call from a book company yesterday and she will call back today to talk to me concerning publishing an on demand book.
I heard from Romo (Dallas Cowboy quarterback) that Santa left my Kindle with him. I think I need it more than he does but guess I will continue to have books all over the house and spend hours hunting information.

Thankful for the remote control last night, Cowboys and Mavs at the same time, both won.
Hope it thaws enough today for me to get my water hose thawed, would like to quit carrying water for a couple of days.
Everyone up before 5 am so are taking a nap after our outdoor exercise, feeding, water, etc.
Am really feeling the results of eating wrong, need to get that sugar deleted from my nutrition, starting today. Adelaide may go home today and that will give me lots more time. I won't have to wash and dry floor quilts and pads constantly, also her daily bath, and feeding 3 times a day will give me more time for the other dogs and might even get some extra Qigong today.

Sunday, December 27, 2009

That's it, I am going to win the lottery (better enter first) and move to a warmer climate. I don't like cold weather especially the ice and snow. It takes so much energy just to get everyone fed and watered. Maybe I just need more money to make the place I have more "user friendly" The dogs and cats are all taking their early nap and I am washing and drying floor quilts and pads and mopping the floors. Gotta bathe Adelaide this morning after she and I have our time in the yard. She is so incontinent that I could easily bathe her 3 times a day, if it were not so hard to do.
Harry's stitches come out tomorrow, they are so hard that I will probably take them out this afternoon and see if the vet wants to see him tomorrow.
Watched my Dallas Mavericks yesterday afternoon and did enjoy, the Suns, too late for me. I don't think any of my extra dogs will go home until Tuesday.
Will have my cup of coffee and get started with Adelaide.

LIFE IN THE COUNTRY

what a great life? My body tells me this morning that the goodies everyone left when I got their dogs, were not healthy snacks.
This is when I do not enjoy my little farmette, carrying water to the livestock, feeding everyone and life in general is very hard on this old lady. My young friend Doyle came yesterday morning and got my car started so first thing this morning it was; start the water to be certain it did not freeze, starting the washer and dryer, then starting the car and letting it run for a while so the cold battery will start again when I need it.
Janet the horse kicks all the water buckets over if they are not full so I must keep carrying water until the hose thaws out next week. I have one small heated bucket but it does take her long to empty it out, so I must fill the half barrels and the 5 gallon buckets. If I get enough sun today I will be able to get the hose loose from the faucet so I can fill from the outside instead of having to go to the bathtub. I forgot to take the hose loose before the freeze, it makes my work a little harder, when I forget something like that.

SNOW and DOGS

Snow, ice and more snow, lots of drifting because of the wind. It is cold and I did not enjoy feeding the livestock and getting their water. JR the mini mule did not want to come out of his stable so I carried food to him and Julie the little hen.
The washer and dryer are running constantly because old Adelaide does not know when she is urinating and wets all over the house. The two little westies have not yet gotten used to the cats so bark a lot. Barky wants to sleep on top of me, other than that, we made it through the night.
If everyone gets all the pets visited without incident, all 3 of the girls and Molly will be here for a while this afternoon, weather permitting. 27 visits between the 3 and Molly is staying with some pets in their home. We will not be concerned about health and wellness as we eat today. My friend Sue brought me some wonderful "food" yesterday and I loved it.

Thursday, December 24, 2009

A short night with lots of distractions, the two Westies, Zoey and Abby were not used to all the different sounds you get from an animal house. All 21 dogs slept poorly and so did the cats so everyone is relaxing now after being fed and loved.
Molly, my grand daughter spent the night so the new dogs could get used to everything and everyone. I feel like I have "been ridden hard and put away wet" as my dad would have said. I feel every day of that 75+ years this morning!
Did not get much research or writing done yesterday and had only a short version of Qigong....probably not much today either, supposed to snow tonight, will be hard for Penny, Lonna and Jill to do the 30 or so visits to dogs and cats tonight and tomorrow morning.

will add a picture of Dixie and Zena

Got A call last night at 10pm because Dixie's (the dog from the devil) mom called and needed to bring her and her old sister over for a couple of days. It never ceases to amaze me how people can "forget to plan" for their animals. I already have my plate full but agreed to take them, also have my 2 westies coming, they have never been here but I know them and their mother, we took a class in t-touch for dogs together a few years ago. Lonna visits these 2 every day at noon. My big dogs will be back today and that will make, how many?

Worked on my on line courses yesterday and really enjoyed the class on health coaching because we are in the one on goal setting, I enjoy that because years ago I did classes at the vo tech school and did a lot of goal setting seminars on such things.

Tuesday, December 22, 2009

When Cowboy and Dude left for a couple days and the new bassett hound stray went to Penny's, I thought I would run to the dollar store and pick up some things I needed. Found that my car would not start, probably dead battery. I had to change my plans, I was really disappointed about not being able to get out of the house but my life is flexible.
Barky and Adelaide came to stay a week, Barky is a pug who comes to see me often and Adelaide is an old dog who should have been sent to heaven months ago, she has a dementia, is deaf, incontinent, and almost blind. I have to wear light colors so she can follow me into the house when she is outdoors.
Listened to a lecture on the Omega fats, 3, 6, and 9. I always learn something new. I also listened to a webinar on EFT tapping.
Will spend most of the day following Adelaide and mopping.

Monday, December 21, 2009

Today we will find someone to scan the Bassett Hound and see if she has a chip, if she does not we will look for her a home, we are calling her Buttercup, she has a sweet personality.
Cowboy and Dude will go to Kansas City today with their mom and dad to visit relatives for a couple of days, mom and dad are off their part time jobs today and tomorrow. I will have two more today whose parents are going away for the holidays and by Christmas I will have a house full.
Have been lazy for a couple of days so have to catch up with my classes today. After the big boys leave, I will take my car load of cardboard to the recycling

Sunday, December 20, 2009

Somehow on my twitter, facebook, etc. my print got set on small and I had to find my reading glasses from "Dollar Store". I have to figure out to make it larger.
A friend, Laura, had a stray Bassett Hound come to her house and could not find the owner. Guess who has it now until they find where it belongs, a nice well cared for beautiful female. She does like all the garbage bags and snoops into everything in the house. It must have been a really big shock when she came into this house with all the dogs, lots of sniffing going on.
Carma? all the teams I root for won yesterday, Cowboys, Hogs, Jazz, MO, Stars, the stars must have been in the right orbit. How about my cowboys, they finally helped Romo out a bit and won!!

Saturday, December 19, 2009

Cold and dark this morning but lucky I do not live in the North East, sounds bad. Harry got through his little tumor removal yesterday and is playing "poor little me" this morning. I will get two round bales of hay this morning for the livestock and hope it will last the rest of the winter.
Did some study in my King Institute manual yesterday and listened to another seminar on eft tapping. I have to do another lesson in reflexology today and a lesson in the wellness coaching class. Will finalize the next week pet sitting schedule for the pet sitting business so that the girls will be sure to get all the pet visits done for the holiday, looks like they will be busy and I have a few extras scheduled to be here too.

Friday, December 18, 2009

The sun is peeping through the clouds this morning but not lasting. Harry Potter is having his little tumor removed this morning and I am anxious, since I cannot leave all these dogs Lonna took him on her way to work. He loves to ride so was anxious to get into the car but he will not be happy to be left there. His buddy, Trevor works there so will help him through his ordeal.

I have been increasing my Qigong and read some more of Dr. Blaylocks books yesterday, it takes longer to read him because he is technical in his writings. I listened to David Wolfe on super foods and learned a bit more about some of the super foods; goji, cacao, maca, aloe, bee products, Noni, etc. He is a delightful speaker and I really enjoy his videos and audios. Have to take a test in my reflexology and health coaching classes today and I am competitive enough to want 100%

Thursday, December 17, 2009

Wonder of wonders, the big dogs mom and dad were off their part time jobs yesterday and came over to clean my back yard for me. Needless to say I was happily surprised. It made all the dogs happy, they had some more adoring friends.
Lonna went to Gordmans and brought me some flavored coffee beans and that made me happy, I love raspberry/white chocolate coffee beans, it is a pleasure just to smell them while they grind. Missed my conference on Health Coaching yesterday because I was busy getting my yard clean and my garden fence repaired. The sun was probably more important to my health anyway. I did some more work in my reflexology class and did extra practice in Qigong. Had a call from a person who was terribly afraid of getting cancer and I told her to do two things, give up sodas and sugar. She said she just could not do that, people continue to amaze me.

Life, the journey

Everyday I learn something that leads to some other study and the journey takes me to another place. Yesterday as I was doing my Qigong, I was reminded of the classes I took in EFT and decided to do some review, of course I could not find all my old dvds and cds so had to go into the website and review. I know the "stuff" is here somewhere but I wasted an hour or so looking and did not find it, I have a photographic memory so I could visualize the books, cds and dvds in this great little bag, but where is the bag? I have even gone through my little memory exercises, maybe it will all come to me today.

Got two new dogs today because the parents had a business trip, Lela and Rambo have been with me so much, they came in with vim and vigor at 6:30 this morning and of course Cowboy and Dude became equally energized, everyone is resting now and listening to Christmas music. I have got to learn how to take pictures with my phone because as I write I can see at least a dozen pictures I would like to take but have not put enough energy into learning how, have to get Molly, my granddaughter to teach me.

Read more info yesterday about avoiding eye disease and cataracts by Dr. Ed Kondrot, MD, needing to refer someone who like me does not want cataracts.

Am going to try to get my grandson's picture on this blog, hope I am successful!

Tuesday, December 15, 2009

Had to take Harry Potter to the vet yesterday to have her check his little tumor, will have it removed on Friday. Lonna took half a vacation day so she could take him, the two vacationing dogs were still here and I do not leave the house when I have other dogs here especially big ones. I have this worry that something would happen to them if I left. Lonna will take Harry when she goes to work on Friday. I am really odd you know so I will call and make certain that the surgical wound is flooded with oxygen and left alkaline. I don't think it is cancer but I have seen in humans, when there is a trauma cancer can grow, if the wound is full of oxygen and alkaline, cancer cells cannot grow and of course I will be sure his diet is good and that he has no chance of eating sugar.

Dixie and her sister did leave yesterday evening so the house is much less confused and active. Everyone is enjoying sitting in front of the little electric fireplace and not being bothered. Even the big boys, Cowboy and Dude were glad Dixie left. Saturday the big boys mom and dad came to see their big babies and had used their food stamps to buy eggs and ground beef to help me out on making every one's daily meatball. They knew I made meatballs everyday for my dogs, to start their day and were caring enough to use the food stamps for the ground beef and eggs. I really appreciated them doing it because their boys like two meat balls every morning. I put ground beef, eggs, oatmeal and fish oil in the meatballs and freeze in mini muffin pans so everyone is anxious to get to the kitchen every morning.

Did some more study and practice in my reflexology class, will spend more time on my qigong today. It is cold so I won't spend much time outdoors.

Monday, December 14, 2009

Not too cold but windy this morning. The sun would like to shine but is having a bit of trouble.

The doxies think it is cold enough to curl up on the quilt in front of the little electric fireplace. Ludwig, a red min. doxie, got his training collar removed today because he obeys when we are out of the fenced area so now there are 8 that are trained, have to put more links in the collar for Chloe the black pug's fat little neck. I think she is next because she stays close to me anyway when we are out.

Dixie and Zena will probably go home today and everyone will be happy to see Dixie go, her energy levels are just too high all the time, the little lazy ones are tired of her.

Did lots of training yesterday on the healing powers of Qigong and worked on the sitting exercises.

Watched "Makeover" last night about the lady with M.G. and enjoyed it very much. Bad luck for my two football teams yesterday so I wasted a few hours trying to coach the Cowboys and the Chiefs. I think the Chiefs need a seminar or getting a winning attitude. The cowboys just need a new coach.

House cleaning one step at a time

Do you realize how hard it is to clean up one area of the house, it takes real dedication! Last night Dixie, the dog who had unending energy, thought she lost her bone behind a cushion on the couch, I pulled out the cushion and you probably know what a "Pandora's box" I opened. Spent last night pulling on the cushions and using the vac, it was gross. This morning I have spent a lot of time doing the other couch in the living room, these are large couches with lots of cushions that are used by the dogs. I have done my work for the day, fed dogs, cats, and livestock, watering everyone, exercising everyone and cleaned a gross couch. I will now sit and have my cup of coffee. There is a show on HGTV called yard crashers that I like to watch on Sunday morning so while I have my coffee, I will watch tv before I start the wash, do my research for the day, take my Qigong lesson and my KI and do my reflexology exams. I am planning to find a musical cantata on the tv to enjoy and of course, I have to watch my Cowboys and Chiefs.

Saturday, December 12, 2009

Warmer this morning and a tiny bit of rain at my house, was able to use the hose to water the livestock so will have to figure another way to get my strenght training to replace carrying 5 gallon buckets of water to the barnlot.
Dixie, the dog the devil sends to make me humble, came yesterday with her sister so their family could go to Silver Dollar City. Dixie acts like a 7 foot 2 year old and has unending energy, night and day. Her old sister is very good but is big enough to take up all the space on one couch.
I got a new electric fireplace and when I plugged it in it blew out two different wall sockets that must be on one line, did not blow the breaker just the plugs, guess that tells me something about the electric circuits in my house, will use extension cords for the computer and tv then call an electrician after Christmas. At least I have good heat in the living room now and don't have to turn my oven on every morning.
Did more work on my reflexology class and studied my Qigong and KI, with the time I used to get my electricity running to all the necessary things such as tv and computer, I wasted a lot of time I could have been working on learning. Heard another interview explaining the great things fish oil does for you, nothing I had not already heard but explained it well so I could impart that knowledge to others.

Friday, December 11, 2009

My "nest" is so full and unorganized that I have to clean it up. One whole shelf of the bookcase is empty, it will be full when I unload my nest.

Made an appointment for Harry Potter at the vet, he has a growth on his left ribcage and he bumped it or something and it is growing and I called the vet, she will see him on Monday. He is my old man and goes everywhere I go so have to keep him well.

The toilets were draining slow, I think the drain to the septic might be a bit frozen but I decided I might better put the bacteria in so it could clean out the septic and the drains.

I spent the afternoon yesterday studying the KI manual and learning the techniques for stopping seizures and the other first aid procedures, I am really fascinated by this stuff. Also took some more lessons in Qigong. Also listened to some lectures by Dr. Norm Shealy and Dr. Bernie Seigel via the computer. I am so glad I am living in the computer age.

Thursday, December 10, 2009

Does not feel as cold because the wind left us, it is 9 degrees this morning but the horizon looks like it will yield to the sun soon.

Dread carrying water to the livestock, those 3 animals cause a lot of extra work but where can they go, no one wants them. Have to order more hay today and get another bag of grain. When I get them food or order more dog food, I say "Merry Christmas to all" and think of their sweet natures. Jesse, the pygmy goat, Janet the old horse and J.R. the mini mule do not really have sweet personalities but they do have personalities. Chloe, the black pug, has the most personality, she can keep everyone in line and talks to the tv.

I will enjoy sitting indoors and having my oatmeal this morning: old fashioned oats, nuts, flax seed, raw honey. salba and a little butter. I really feel sinful when I put the butter on it.

I listened to an interview with Dr. Sinatra yesterday, he is the cardiologist that I firmly believe in and would take his advice most any day.

Gotta check my bank account today and see if I can order some more cacoa, I enjoy it so much.

I have a problem with a couple of people that had me care for their dogs and keep forgetting to pay me, they have money too and jobs.

I have not heard from my Cowboy and Dudes' parents this week but now realize that I have had them over a month and they are thriving eating healthy food, great bones and meatballs and enjoy a wonderful clean bed every day. Just hope the parents can get out of the shelter soon.

Wednesday, December 9, 2009

Cold and windy, nothing on tv, so watched 'on demand tv', Julia and Julie. I really did enjoy it.

It is very cold here so I have to go break the ice so my farm animals can get a drink. The dogs are not wanting to spend much time out doors. I started the washer right away this morning because I do not have a heater in the utility room so wanted to be certain my pipes had not frozen. Stormy the cat lives on the dryer when she comes in so I guess she is keeping everything warm.

I don't know why but the dogs wanted me up @ 4 am, I was determined to pretend to be asleep so they would go back to sleep but it did not fool them. Even the big dogs, Cowboy and Dude decided they wanted to sleep with me so my bed got too small and I got up, just as they had all planned in the first place.

I did some reading yesterday and also worked on the book and my reflexology class. Did a little extra Qigong because I watched another master and really loosened up my old joints.

Going through some old things, found a playbill from my husband attending a performance of South Pacific in London 1950's! Some of those things were in a cedar chest that was not in the house when it burned. The playbill did not have a date but was probably 1951, it was the real performance with Mary Martin @ Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Also found the Cotton Bowl tickets from 1959, they were good seats and cost $5.00, We went there to see Air Force play, I don't remember the other team but it ended in a tie, I think.

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Rainy this morning, you up north of me are getting snow, me may have snow tonight.
Yesterday started my online classes in reflexology it blends in nicely with my at home classes to become a master of qigong. I do love learning and hope I can instill that love of learning in others. My grandchildren seem to have the learning bug and that makes me proud. Yesterday did a lot of research on alternative cancer cures and was really happy with the results. So sorry that mainstream medicine has not been happy about trying very cheap, safe alternatives.
Must say that I get a lot more reading done because the tv is so poor. Tonight my Suns and my Mavericks play but the tv stations do not show the game, is not that terrible?
All the dogs are great, happy, full and relaxing to Christmas music.
Found a couple of good websites yesterday: We are one and Act on. Act on is a social networking of people who have "causes" and We are one is about saving the earth, videos sound like the old Indian talking about saving our resources. I can listen to the video on the earphones while I am on the computer. Also wrote an essay on Helium, about animals and the homeless.

Monday, December 7, 2009

Finally got my washer changed out, I no longer have to mop the floor while I am washing. Had trouble finding anyone to help so Lonna and I moved it ourselves. My body aches a little this morning. It is great to have it washing this morning, sounds good. Stormy the cat. the utility room/outdoor cat did not like us disturbing her room but she got over it when I put fresh food out this morning and a few extra treats.
Have to put a new cat door in the kitchen door because, Cowboy (huge dog) tried to get his shoulders through it. With two large dog doors you would think he would not need to use the cat door.
Did some more research yesterday and added some information to my book, have to keep using my brain so it will not become stale. Watched some sports on tv but very disappointed, Chiefs and Cowboys both lost, I do think I could have coached a bit better than their coaches did.
Have to hang out a load of wash and exercise these dogs a bit.

Sunday, December 6, 2009

I have never liked cold weather, I think it stems from the fact, I grew up on the farm and had to get out and feed the livestock and milk the cows. Now I would probably enjoy it if I was not now; feeding the livestock and carrying water to them. The sky is beautiful and it would be nice to take a little walk, all bundled up but I would have to take all these dogs with me. This old lady is not up to that kind of walk.

No money to buy Christmas gifts this year because the money is sitting on my roof in the form of a solar panel that heats a hot water tank. Also some money invested in supplements for all my family, I am the only one interested in their health. I must say I have some of that money tied up in books and cds to keep my brain filled with new information.

I have a very contented group of animals this morning. Their "bellies" are full and they are napping with a smile on their little faces. I don't know what to do with them, and I certainly would not know what to do without them.

Saturday, December 5, 2009

The mom of Cowboy and Dude called last night to check on her dogs and to tell me she could not come to see them because the water pump on their car broke. Someone there at the shelter was helping them get it fixed. She and her husband both got part time jobs, don't know when they will make enough money to have a place to live so they can take their dogs.
All is well here at this "dog house" even though it is very cold. The sun is just making an appearance as I look out my window, the animals have been fed and are napping to Christmas music.
Did some more reading and writing yesterday, listened to an interview with Dr. Blaylock and got his book off the shelf to review. I agree with probably 90% of what he says and have to do further research on the other 10%. Did some research on the Budwig nutrition program for cancer and ordered a book from King Institute, so I can learn a new wellness procedure. Also looked at online reflexology classes, I used to do a lot of reflexology using the hands and found it very effective, gotta learn the correct methods.
Gotta get me a kindle, am in the Amazon.com contest to win one then I will not have so many books on the shelf, I can just pull them up on my kindle.
Gotta go carry water to the livestock, hose is frozen!

Friday, December 4, 2009

Today the moon and stars are beautiful and the sun is starting over the horizon but, it is 16 degrees and my nose is cold. I got my small heated horse water bucket plugged in yesterday and it was nice and thawed but the other buckets are frozen solid.

Did not get much work done yesterday but I will catch up today. I believe in tomorrow, what you don't get done today, you can do tomorrow. I sent Sonny, the little doxie/lab to stay a few days with Jill yesterday because Cowboy loves him and will not leave him alone. He has the battered woman's syndrome any way, if another dog is bothering him he just lets it happen without retreating. Then keeps going back for more.

Did some study on new ways of treating cancer and listened to some videos on treating depression. Did not do my qigong lessons yesterday but will catch up today. Again, putting off until tomorrow, I guess I am a procrastinator even if I am not usually in that mode.

Between God and the Dogs, I am well taken care of anyway.

Thursday, December 3, 2009

Had a short night, my son-in-law who has the worse health habits in the world, had seizures last night, he has huge unpaid medical bills for the past few years from a medical problem where he was in the intensive care ward for a long time, and insurance paid only a small amount. They lost everything they had this past year including their house and they have no insurance and since he lost most of his short term memory skills when he was ill, he cannot do any job excepting washing dishes at a restaurant. His wife tries to keep things going by working 3 jobs and they have a daughter who is a senior in high school. They live with her younger sister in a small house. I looked up info on a free health clinic this morning because he cannot even wash dishes unless the seizures are under control.
My son-in-law will be at my home today because he cannot be left alone and my daughter has to work. As you probably guessed, he is not my favorite person in the world and I hope I can be tolerant, must do my relaxation and Qigong. Will take extra Zamu today and make the best of everything.

Wednesday, December 2, 2009

Had predictions of snow today but as usual the weather man changed his mind last night. I think it is now rain this afternoon, so will hang out clothes early. I worked so hard yesterday rearranging the house to make it more comfortable for the big dogs, they so wanted to sleep with the little ones and I, I made them a couch in the bedroom, I can hardly walk in the room but they were so happy. Had to move one of the large book shelf units to the hall so had to move about 150 books and that was just one of the 4 units I have. I am a book lover and can never find the one I want, gotta reorganize them, have a dozen or so by my nesting chair in the living room and another dozen or so on my bedside table. Found my biology book from nurses training, 1952 was the year. After my house burned in 1982 my dad found it in his house and he brought it to me just in case I needed it. I think the only thing in it that is usable is our body structure.
When I moved the cookbooks, found a Christmas cookie book that brought back lots of memories, the dogs and I do not eat sugar often so guess I won't use it this year.

Thrillionaire of the Week

Thrillionaire of the Week
I am listening to those wonderful 14-15 year old boys sing opera and thoroughly enjoying it. It is such a thrill to hear young people do outstanding things. I placed it on twitter and and facebook, wanting everyone to hear them. Will try to get it on the blog.
Sun is a little under the clouds today but can hang out my clothes as soon as the frost is gone.
All the animals have been fed and are listening to Christmas Music as they nap. Even the cats are napping and listening.
Will do some more writing today and have to move some furniture around to make it easier to walk around in the house. In order to do that have to move a book shelf so unload books, dust and that takes time, Will listen to a cd while I do that.

Monday, November 30, 2009

Very frosty this morning! I went out to the van to get my horse food and could not get the door open because it is frozen shut, I leave my bags of food in the car until I can safely carry it to the storage shed. Have to wait until the sun shines a bit to get the food for my livestock.
I did a lot of study yesterday on modalities that I would use if I had any medical problems. I love youtube and can find so much info, then I can do further research. I am really impressed with EVOT, exercising with oxygen, to fill all my lazy cells with oxygen. For sometime I have been researching all the ways to use hydrogen peroxide in keeping us well, did more extensive research over the week end.
Looks like enough sun today to hang out clothes, the sun is just rising and it looks great. A huge yellow ball.

Sunday, November 29, 2009

Things are looking better here, still have Dude and Cowboy and 2 other extras but it is much easier this morning. Three days ago I did not hear my little rooster crow and when I went out with food, I could not find him. He has completely disappeared, guess something or someone got him. I really miss him, I love the crowing. Two sounds that really makes my day is a train and the crow of a rooster.
Did lots of house cleaning yesterday and also worked on my Qigong lessons, I really love it. It will take me awhile to become a master but I will do it.
I can't hang out my clothes today because the air is moist and no sun. I gave Dude and Cowboy's parents a bill yesterday, showing them the hours of wages I want from them for the month of November, I used the exchange rate of $10 an hour. they now owe me 49 hours of labor, just don't count on it coming to pass. Their labor my be the "we pittle around" kind also.
Will work on my Qigong today and do a few more lessons. Also do some more writing.

Wonder how bad "black Friday" will be, am glad I don't have money so am not tempted to shop.
All the dogs are surviving the holiday and I feel like I have been 'ridden hard and put away wet' as my dad used to say. But am thankful that I am healthy and can still take care of the animals.
Have to catch up on some writing today and as I see the sky, it appears that there will be sunshine today to make it a pleasant day.
If you don't already read my nieces' blog, I would encourage you to read: www.altumania.blogspot.com she is a very good writer and you will enjoy the writing of Tina. Also the blog of my cousin, www.snowflakewarrior.blogspot.com Both girls have creative minds.
I am going to be really mad at myself if I got their blog addresses wrong so will recheck and correct if my memory is not correct.

Happy, Healthy Thanksgiving!

Jill came to help me with my dogs last night and it was a real help. Some of them actually slept in her room but I had plenty during the night. Everyone has been fed and exercised and I am ready for bed again. Dude and Cowboy's parents will be over to see them this afternoon, I hope they will take them to the dog park and play with them for a couple of hours. Had a call from a "friend" she has a friend who is moving and needs a place to keep his lab, he needs to find a new place in another town, it would take a month or so. I told her to talk to me after Thanksgiving and I would charge him, not full price but food money at least. I love the animals but I get trampled on a lot because I do not want animals to be put down or neglected.

I did some more writing on my book yesterday and also did some more reading on Vitamin B12, and it's relation to our having good digestion and dependent on bacteria to survive in our systems. Still working on improving my Qigong and really enjoy it.

Great sunshine today, ice in the livestock's water and frost on the ground.
More dogs than I can count, and 3 more coming today. Hope the couple at the shelter will call and tell me they can take their dogs for the day tomorrow, it would be nice!
Haven't heard for Dude and Cowboy's mom since Saturday, hope they have a job and are looking for a house so they can have their dogs.
Did some research for my book yesterday and heard an interview on hormonal imbalances.
Gotta hang out some more wash today and encourage the dogs to stay outdoors a little bit. The cats are sleeping in but I am positive they will get out and enjoy the sunshine.

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

I added a bit of information to my book yesterday and also started my on line classes to becoming a Qigong instructor. Also have another webinar on wellness today.

I get 2 more dogs today, Molly and Coco, I have had them many times, Beagle and Corgi. It does make for less floor space and a little more of the "wanting more attention" from my own dogs.

Am hearing about the "cookie diet" sounds good but I doubt that it works, it is in the GNC stores. Have the radio on this morning, local channel, to see what is happening locally. Will also listen to dial-a-trade to see if someone else has something I need, badly.

The dogs got me up early today, they have been letting me sleep until 5:30 but this morning they were restless at 4:30 and I got up at 5, it is still too dark to feed the livestock, but have everyone else fed and napping. Sophie is in every night in the kitchen but yesterday I watched her cross the highway, go into the field and catch a mouse to bring back and eat. She really loves the freedom of going in and out at her leisure, I guess everyone loves the same things, cats, dogs and humans.

Spring Forest Qigong -- Home

Spring Forest Qigong -- Home

Posted using ShareThis
Have to be more faithful to my Qigong so got a new series of lessons from the Qigong healing masters. It works better for me than the Tai Chi, I think.
Listened to a cd on the dangers of too much calcium supplement, something I have been trying to warn people about. The cure for osteoporosis is not all those calcium tablets you take but the magnesium, boron and other essential vitamins and minerals. The extra calcium sometimes ends up in the blood vessels and other parts of the body.
Enjoying sunshine this morning and will get that vitamin D that I need.
The news is abuzz about that little leak at 3 mile island, don't hear anything about the radiation they are giving women every year with their mammograms and extra X-ray people get for no good reason. Well gotta pay for all those machines they invested in and use all the medicare and insurance that is available. How about the physicians using some of those diagnostic skill they have instead of technology?
Guess I am on my soap box today, thanks for listening.

Dude and Cowboy had a visit from their mom and dad yesterday, so for hours they looked out the window and was sad, the mom cried the entire time she was here. She really misses her babies. She does have a temporary job and hopes for another part time job on Monday. The dad does not seem to be looking very hard and I gave him some suggestions, hope they get enough money to leave the shelter soon. They do not like the shelter so they really do want a home.
Listened to a great webinar given by Longevity Now, it was led by David Wolfe, also got some ideas from a raw food chef. Wish I could be a better raw food advocate.
Got some windows cleaned and plastic applied for the winter, Lonna and Jill were here to help. Beautiful day today so can hang out clothes and play outdoors with the dogs more.

Life in the dog house

My oh my! Cowboy and Duke thought there was enough room for them to sleep with the little dogs and me. they just do not know how big they are, each one of them takes up the space of at least 4 of my small dogs. Needless to say, there was not space for me to really sleep, some of the pugs and doxies slept on top of me. I have got to be more assertive and push them off, I am working on that part of my life. It is easier for me to "boss" people that be bossy when it comes to the dogs.
Did some writing yesterday on my book and some writing on a writing web site. The weather was too damp and cool to do anything outside after about 9 a,m.
Spent some time doing more research on the rain forest herbs, I don't like to promote anything that I don't know all the info. that is available. Also listened to a seminar given by the developer of Sunfoods, very interesting and fun.

Friday, November 20, 2009

Have been out fixing fence and doing a little clean up in the back yard because the weather is very good this morning but it is looking like winter in the sky. Will have to move the livestock back into the barn area so they will have shelter, they do enjoy playing like they are dogs when I have them in the back yard.
Did lots of research on wellness yesterday afternoon, a lot on eye health and improving brain function. Also listened to a radio program, interview with Dr. Bernie Seigel, very good. Got my new Chocamaca from amazon herbs yesterday and have to tell myself, I am just supposed to have one a day. They are so good, makes me feel good all over. www.freddie@amazonherbs.net.
Cowboy and Duke are doing good but I am getting tired of having to change my bed every night, they do enjoy my bed during the day and early this morning Cowboy just wanted to get in bed with me to cuddle, my little dogs were not really happy about that. He is a bit big for cuddling.
Bud's had their family Thanksgiving meal yesterday so Penny brought me an early thanksgiving meal which I really enjoy, not everything was healthy but I guess I can splurge just this once this week.

Thursday, November 19, 2009

Still have my big dogs; cowboy and duke, I have found that they eat about 3 times the food that my little ones do.
Saw the stars last night and the big beautiful sun today. Have started the wash, need to do some dog beds and quilts today and really like to hang them out in the sun.
Started doing some research this morning on some treatments: for general health of the aged, an oxygen/exercise treatment called EWOT, and a treatment for mascular degeneration called FSM, frequency specific micro current. They were mentioned in a health newsletter that I receive on the internet. Because the sun is out, I probably won't get a lot of research done on the computer, gotta get out with my animals and exercise (do some yard cleaning). Sophie the cat decided that winter is here and moved to the kitchen, now have a kitchen cat, a utility room cat and a guest room cat, they all ignore one another.

Duke and Cowboy, the big boys

Don't think Cowboy and Duke's mom and dad had much luck getting a job yesterday. They need employment counselling because I can imagine, after speaking to them a short while, how good they are in an interview. She is in her 50's and has no teeth and he smells heavily of smoke. When I used to hire people, I am not sure I would have hired them, I would like to have told him that with the smoking, he has a lot less chance of getting a job, and that he could have a place to stay for the money he spends on cigarettes. Another thing that should be done for these shelter people is; they need a throw away phone, how can an employer call them if they have no phone or even an address. Why wouldn't it make sense for the cell phone companies to come up with a donation? We donate phones for the women's abuse shelter, how about desperate people wanting a job? The big boys found my bed yesterday and liked it a lot, spent a lot of their day on it, have to change bedding every night now. They do seem happy. I told their dad that I needed a handy man and could not pay for one so after he gets his job, he must pay me back by fixing my chicken coop, fixing the fence around my garden, etc. guess I have been burned too many times so do not have a lot of faith in that idea. He does not have any idea how much pet sitting costs, I am sure. At least Cowboy and Duke have a warm place to sleep and good meals.

Thankfulness

I am overwhelmed with my space today but thankful that I have a house and a bed. Yesterday I got a call from "Helping Hands" employee asking me to help a couple who was there looking for help. They had two large dogs, were living in their small car and could not go to the shelter with the dogs, could I keep the dogs until they found work? Of course I said, "yes", but my house is small and I am already full of small dogs and cats, these two dogs are huge, a mastiff mix and a sharpei mix, both are sweet but they fill the room. On a brighter side, I can't clean house because I can hardly move about and I have an excuse for doing things I can do sitting in my chair. The mom and dad are both looking for minimum wage jobs because they had lost their jobs in Kansas City and someone here promised them jobs if they came here, they got here and no jobs! I ask about their skills, handy man and restaurant work, I gave them a list of restaurants in Bentonville and Nursing Homes, looked like good folks that would be happy with almost anything.
Have continued to work on my book and having prayer and meditation for people who are so in need, healthwise and just plain living day to day.
No sun today so it is a good for us all to find someone we can do something nice for and make their lives more pleasant.

Monday, November 16, 2009

Cold and rainy today, have a new puppy to stay with me this week, looks like chi/jack russell mix and is very active, wants to be in the middle of what ever I am doing. Does not think outdoors is for potty but for play. she is giving the other dogs their exercise.
Had pretty good sports day yesterday, the only bad thing that happened was the Cowboys' terrible game.
Everyone is decorating for Christmas, that is a lost cause here because this little dog house is not really going to be good to decorate. the dogs create lots of dirt and everything would have to be taken apart every day to dust or wash. When I get puppies to keep, they tend to climb on everything and play with everything, would have lots of "toys" to tear up.
Did some research on the rainforest supplements and found many of them have cancer prevention properties, much can be done if we do our homework, to prevent lots of disease using the amazon rainforest herbs.
I will eat unhealthy for a few days because the left overs the kids brought home after their catering job have some things in them that are not really good for me, but I don't waste anything so will consume them in small amounts. The potato casserole has mayo, I add lots of garlic and onion to counteract the bad stuff, do you think that will work?

Too Much Tv, not enough activity

Did a great deal of research while "working on viewing all the football games", it was difficult to watch so much tv. Had to see: Old Miss, Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma state and I tried to help Florida get beat. A hard day of work.
Today my Dallas cowboys and Mavs don't play until later and I guess KC must have an off day, they did not show up on my computer this am. I have seen my Suns several times and am so proud they are back to the old Steve Nash type of play. If my husband were alive today, he would laugh his head off, because I never had time for sports when he was watching all the time. He would really love it now that we have so much on tv.
It is not supposed to rain until late this evening so I guess I can hang out clothes again today. Need a jacket this morning to exercise with the dogs out in the back yard. As the weather gets more winter like I have to use the pilates bench more and my stretching bands. Still have to replace my rebounder that I left out in the yard and Janet, the horse tried to use it.
Did a project, researching the health benefits of all the ingredients in my Zamu and ordered some of the cacao from amazon herbs, I have been using the cacao from Sunfoods but will get a better deal from amazon herbs. My 75 year old bones felt a little achey last night (too much tv) so I drank extra Zamu, feel good this morning. www.freddie.amazonherbs.net

Saturday, November 14, 2009

Had a pre-read of my book so far and got good approval. If you would like me to e-mail you a copy, let me know and I will send you the 10 page book.
Am listening to a web seminar as I get my work done today and hope I can tolerate the house work until the ball games come on at 11:00. Have to hang out another load of clothes today because it is sunny and windy, perfect for drying.
Started training another dog to follow off-leash this morning and she did well. Have 6 of the 14 trained, would love to train them all so I would not have to be so careful about double gating everything.
Had a call about "how to destroy a cold" this morning. You have to use folk medicine: drink hot tea with lemon, take oil of oregano, do sinus cleanse while in the shower, take hot foot soaks, drink lots of very hot and very cold liquids, eat lots of spicy foods with lots of onion and garlic.
I would make sure the tea was neem tea or another healthy tea, add lemon and honey to it and sip slowly. You must also take supplement of antioxidants, I would drink my Zamu and acai, noni, or goji berry juice.

day to day living

I can get my vitamin D today, there is sun this morning but it looks like it may change by noon.

Got to the Farmers Exchange yesterday to get food for the livestock, the mini mule, JR, the horse, Janet, the pygmy goat, Jessie, the rooster, Jim and the little hen, Julie. My make shift back window on the old van does fine but does have a problem blocking out all those road sounds. I guess plastic film is not very "acoustic".

I did some more writing yesterday on my book and also did more research, I can tell today because a have a dozen or so books lying around in my living room and a few beside my bed.

I keep remembering things and then I need to find out where I first got the info and need more info and on and on. I also spent time finding some local providers of services including acupuncture and homeopathic medicine. I found a naturopath in Fayetteville and will meet with her next week to exchange knowledge and ideas. Anyone interested in holistic health is a rear commodity in my area, also organic food is rare and when I find it it is very expensive. One market that is good is 45 minutes from me mid morning and one hour and 30 minutes at some times of the day. I have a problem leaving my dogs for the 4 or 5 hours it takes to get there, shop and get back home.

Am needing some energy so better go drink some Zamu and eat my morning egg.

Improvising

I found this morning that the back window of my old van had shattered, got to go get horse food today so have to drive. I never give up so cleaned out the glass as much as possible, got out my box of plastic storm window coverings and went to work. Swabbed the edges with alcohol, put double stick tape around the edge, put the plastic on, got the hair dryer, found an extension cord on my lawnmower, heated the plastic with the hair dryer and now I have a clear, wrinkle free window on the van. Just in case it did not hold well, I put that strapping tape I got from the post office around the outer edge.
Now that that is done I will get busy with my morning chores and start hanging out clothes.
All the animals had been fed and brushed before I started the window so I get everything on tract by 9 am
Read a lot on B12 yesterday and also am reminded that I need my sunshine for my vitamin D every day of my life. Guess what, no misspellings today either.

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Too foggy for the sun this morning and I need the sun, clothes are washing and getting ready to be hung on the clothes line, I had my Zamu for energy, the dogs are napping to classical music and I am having a cup of coffee. Doesn't that sound good?
Still do not have the computer fixed so am still working on the laptop, no printer and no memory, makes it difficult. I guess that is not the worse thing that could be going on, I have had worse.
Lonna has not had much energy so I have started her on Dr. Teitelbaum's energy system and encouraging her to remember to take her Zamu. She has been drinking less Dr. Pepper and that will help. I get so excited about every one having optimal wellness that I am sure I upset lots of people. It is has been hard to keep my mouth shut whenever it comes to accepting a person's poor health habits. I am working on that.
I will get busy now and hang the clothes out and go walk with the dogs and outdoor cats. I have a lead on Ludwick for his training and when I let him drag it, it gives Sophie and Stormy something to chase and play with. Those two cats are not easy to entertain.

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

So happy to see the sun this morning and after I do a little research, I am going to go sit under the old apple tree, have my coffee and write, while the dogs enjoy playing and digging. No leaves now so it is sunny under the old apple tree.
Rambo and Lela came this morning for a few days, they were so happy to get here but had to close the gate to Ruby, the cat's room, Lela is one big dog that is so curious about cats she would sit and stare at a cat all day. Rambo does not get a lot of attention at home so runs into the yard with great enthusiasm, he gets everyone exited. Parents have a business trip to NY so will be home on Thursday.
I posted a great video on both facebook and twitter this morning. The funny side of the flu vaccine. I am really enjoying the Planet Green tv, last night was the 100 mile challenge and Emeril Green in the Napa Valley visiting organic farms and cooking with the farmers.

Monday, November 9, 2009

Should I be worried? When I open up the blogspot today the ad appearing is an ad for assistance with Alzheimer's disease. It must be there for a reason??
Today there is no sun so I am sad. After all the chores this morning, the dogs are listening to classical music and I am catching up on the computer. There are other things I could do such as: cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, but that is a way down on my list.
I listened to some youtube this morning and got a lot of info on the flu vaccine and why we declare the flu an epidemic, so the drug companies can make more money. On youtube you can listen to Dr. Null talk to the lawmakers and find out why the drug companies don't need any more money.
So much for the negatives stuff, my neighbor gave me $15 for my hot water tank, his brother has a flea market. Someone will make some money from it. I don't think the $15 will be enough for the washer I need but it will help.

Life goes on

What a beautiful morning, a little cool but great sun. Lonna helped me do dog baths yesterday and we have had our time out in the yard this morning so everyone is listening to music and having a nap.
When the solar engineer took out my old propane tank he found that the exhaust pipe was not attached to the one on the roof so we had been getting toxic gas in the house, a good thing I kept the utility room closed a lot of the time.
I'm working on getting my little book on the computer, was going to wait until they got the big one repaired but that may take too long, if I know anything about the "new" customer service. I have become much more accepting of things the way they are and do not get really stressed out about those things I can not control. In days past, I would make myself sick fussing about things that do not go the way they should. Now I just vary my life a bit to fit the circumstance.
I challenge everyone to take all detours needed to keep your life as stress free as possible.
Reset goals as necessary, for instance, my goal this am was reached, "no misspellings found".

shower with the sun

I feel so good taking a shower that has been heated by the sun, the water even feels better.
I have the check bank accounts to see when I can be able to get a used washer, until then I will use the old one as long as it will run and put towels on the floor to soak up the water that leaks out.
Have one more day with Buddy and his sister then they will go home, they are great dogs and I will miss them.
Have some downloaded seminars to listen to on the computer, but because I am using the old laptop I have to use ear phones, that keeps me close to the computer and I don't get much work done. I would like to sell one of my wellness books on line but gotta figure out how to hook up pay pal to my web page so it can be an e-book to download for a fee. Do you know anyone who knows how to do that?

Friday, November 6, 2009

Solar guys spent the day getting my hot water tank in and will be back to finish this am. I got lots of vit. D because I spent the day out in the back yard with the animals. The little black girls, chloe, daisy and rosie would not let me sit without them in my lap and they all thought they were being treated terrible because they could not lay around in the house all day.
When we are through with this job, I will figure out how to get a washer, thanks Cherie for sending me the ideas.
Sophie was run off the front porch because all those men were in her space and she could not sit in her box in the sun. Stormy retreated to the storage shed, they are going to be upset when the men come back today.
I did some reading while holding the dogs and will get more reading done today while I am outdoors with the animals. Gotta hush and get ready for the return of the "solar guys"

Say to day living

I got all my dogs out, my paths cleared and my mind set, the workers were supposed to be here at 8:30 to put in my hot water tank and solar system. The man just called and said they would probably not be here until 10:00, I thought I learned several decades ago not to depend on workers being on time, but I am still learning.
My washer can't be fixed so have to buy another one. Since I can only do one thing at a time, as soon as my hot water gets installed, I will start listening to Dial A Trade on the radio and find a used washer cheap. A new washer would probably outlive me and since I don't like to waste, I will get a used one. Always thinking green.
Heard Al Gore on the educational channel last night and really enjoyed his encouragement about going green.
The Mavs beat themselves last night and I felt badly for them because they are playing so well, most of the time. Now that baseball is actually over I can concentrate on the Mavs and the Suns.
Reached my goal again, no misspellings!

Daily news

Spent an hour listening to a podcast by Dr. Teilebaum and really learned a lot more about chronic fatigue syndrome and Fibromyalgia, He is so sharp because he has "been there, done that." I will try to post where to find it, on facebook and my webpage. His SHINE method of treatment is brilliant, I learned about it a couple of years ago and he reminded me of some details in the podcast.

Sophie, Stormy and Ruby, the cats are eating me out of house and home. I guess they are going back to their roots and preparing for a long winter without food. Sophie and Stormy disappeared for a few days, don't know where they were but they are back and hungry.

Supposed to have a man come today and fix my leaking washing machine. Gotta wrangle the dogs when he comes, they might just lick him to death.

Busy on the farm

Since the inflammation in my eye is better, I read a couple of books on inflammation: Optimal Health by Dr. Duke Johnson, he is a good writer but I did not agree with him on lots of things. The Inflammation Syndrome was a good book by a non physician, Jack Challem, most of his info was sound and it did perk my memory of some things I knew but had forgotten.

I am still having problems teaching my 14 dogs and my little herd of livestock, a pygmy goat, a horse and a mini mule that daylight savings time is over. They want me up and busy caring for them early. The cats are not very caring either, no sleep for the old lady farmer. I did get to hang out my clothes yesterday, the sun was so great.

Worked on some wellness plans yesterday and did not get enough exercise, gotta be more active today. Still have to map out my vegetable garden for next year, gonna enlarge the space and also get my manure put on for the winter. Have started moving the fence panels so my animals will not bother my vegetables.

My life is a very different life from the corporate world in the past but much healthier.

Great Sun

My what a beautiful day today, hung out 3 loads of clothes on the clothes line yesterday and looks like I can wash some quilts, blankets and rugs today to hang out on that wonderful solar clothes dryer.

The dogs were restless last night, I think it was because the moon and stars were so bright, they were seeing shadows out in the yard.

Lonna made Chili for the church yesterday so I have the left overs today and some fruit salad too. I love left overs! I will add lots of onions and garlic to it to make it healthier and better tasting, I just can't do anything without trying to improve it.

Have to write a health plan for a friend and her young children today, they are pron to lots of illness and with a good supplement program and some good nutrition they can be well most of the time.

My rebounder has seen its last day so need to have Jill pick me up a new one at Walmart, rebounding is the very best exercise you can do because it gets your whole lymph and blood system to working at its best. Also exercise on my Pilates bench when I watch tv.

I think the last of the apples have fallen so after I give these to the livestock they will have no more treats.

Sunday, November 1, 2009

an extra hour

So happy to see the end of daylight savings time, the dogs, cats, and livestock did not know the time changed.
Because of the inflammation in my body, I have been taking extra Zamu and trying to do a better job reading my body. Need to get out in the sunshine today and exercise more. We are supposed to have sunshine most of the week so that will really help my physical and emotional health.
Watching Yard crashers on HGTV this morning, lots of ideas I could use if I had money. I love dreaming anyway. Am going to lay out more area for my vegetable garden this week and get it started so it can be ready for spring.

Saturday, October 31, 2009

Time to be outdoors

The sun is shinning and I am so happy. Have 2 new dogs for a week while mom and dad are on vacation.
Gotta figure out how to repair a leak in my horse watering barrel, the small buckets will not have enough water for a full day, have to keep refilling.
Ball games start at 11am so will have to get my vitamin D before then and get the dogs exercised out doors.
Having to use my old lap top all the time now because the big computer is not working, hate to take it to be fixed because it never gets fixed correctly so is a never ending battle. I had a computer that was very old and we replaced it with a Gateway, what a mistake, it has never worked correctly and all the promises mean nothing.

Friday, October 30, 2009

Rain again today, wish I had my rain barrels set up because I could use this next summer when everything dries out. The problems with rain barrels is, I would have to start by putting up guttering and that gets to be expensive. Guess I had better start a little at a time. It is easier now that there are so many advantages to saving water and it is being done all over the world. I can remember when I was a child, everyone had rain barrels and cisterns to catch water.
Have two dogs coming today to sleep over for a week, have not met them but they are rescues and have great parents. Barkys parents should be home today, hope they call me and pick her up, I should dress everyone up for halloween but that is too much work. Harry always wears clothing but everyone else just gets dressed occasionally,
Just saw that the health care bill is almost 2000 pages, I hope each person reads it carefully and I am certain there are things in it that has nothing to do with health.

Thursday, October 29, 2009

I misspoke, I wrote would instead of world but that is not misspellings, I win anyway!

stats and planning ahead

I have been feeling a little cynical this morning and wondering how the media people find all the stats they quote. If I take vitamin D, I cut my risk of cancer by 50%, my risk for heart disease 40%, etc., etc., etc. If I am overweight I am ?% more likely to die of heart disease. Do the funeral homes report on the weight of all their clients? I am really turned off when someone gives me a stat. I am much more likely to believe it if they tell me they had 10 mice and 5 of them died because they did not have a certain mineral or vitamin, and even then I question to be sure everything else was absolutely the same, same parents etc.
No sun today, windy and with the rain and wind we have lost the leaves. I need to get to town and buy some spring bulbs so I will have blooms next spring. The mums are great now and I appreciate the fact that I planted them a couple of summers ago. Must always plan ahead and that is so difficult in this would of instant gratification.
Reached a goal again, "no misspellings", how about that!

It's the sun, it's the sun

Sunshine this morning, better enjoy it, here today, gone tomorrow.

The video on how the family grow all their own food on 1/10 of an acre, inspired me this morning and I am dreaming now about how to increase the production of my acreage, have to start drawing up plans for next spring and also figure out how to get a cheap greenhouse.

Hopefully the barn lot will dry some today and I can feed my animals without burying myself in mud. Wish I could find where my little hen is laying her egg, she quit laying in her nest when Janet and Jessie put their big hoofs in it and tore it off the barn wall. I did love getting my egg for the day, fresh.

I am still looking for a holistic physician in my area, I have used all my resources so guess I may have to go to Springfield or Tulsa.

TV and other things

I was just seeing the 700 club, don't usually see it but, they have a program about some robots that is the cutest thing I have seen in a while. The book he wrote is "out of the box".
Watched the 100 mile challenge last night on Green Planet, I really enjoy the program, families that are trying to eat food that is produced within 100 miles of their house. It has become a problem finding anything on the tv so have really become a fan of the Green Planet channel and watch some of the "real tv" station, Home and Garden and discovery.
I ordered a couple of books yesterday from Amazon.com, one on inflammation and one for just fun reading "What Else but Home" I will probably pass it on after I read it.
I sink down about a foot in my barn lot when I feed my animals, it is so wet and messy, hoping for sunshine soon.

cats missing

I don't know what has happened to my two front porch cats, when it is stormy or rainy they usually will scratch on the front door or come into the kitchen through the cat door. Sometimes they go to the barn or to the storage shed. They are not in any of their familiar places and I am afraid they left me. They are both such great cats I hope they will come home.

It is terribly rainy and cool here and I do not enjoy that kind of weather, looking forward to sunshine.

No sunshine this am, makes me sad. Penny and Jill have seen a mouse in their house so I sent Domino, the border collie over to stay with them for a few days. Domino is very alert to mice and will chase them out or eat them. She is the leader of my "mouse buster squad".
One of my twitter friends sent a little note that someone is listening and is making a universal charger for cell phones. I have "99" chargers and can never find the right one and when you get a new phone, you have to buy a new charger. I also think that all atms, gas stations, etc. should be standardized and all be alike, by the time I figure out how an unfamiliar atm works or a new gas pump works, I am so frustrated that I might as well give up. Things should be simple!!!
Saw a couple of good book reviews yesterday on Book TV, C-Span 2 and am going to purchase one called "What else but home" by Rosen and one that I think would be great if you have time called "What do I read next", my teacher friends would probably like it if they have time.
I will probably get my new hot water heater next week, will be glad, don't know how much longer I can keep the trail through the house open enough for the workmen to get through to the utility room. OOPS had one misspellings today, I transposed letters in frustrated.

Barky the pug came for a week, another clinging pug, also have Griff the griffon, he cries if I don't stay within his sight (a big, big, dog). Looks like there is going to be a sunrise, and that makes me so happy. I need that for my sanity and my health.

I am still fighting the inflammation in my body but it is much better, I can certainly tell when things are stressful or if I am not taking care of myself. Have to always have a listening ear when it it comes to health.

I am going to play it forward and send my old phones over to the people who were nice to me at the cell phone place and let them resale them. They may need that little boost in their income.

If you are nice to me I will always pay you back, by the same token, if you are rude to me I will pay you back, if I get the chance. I am a very strong willed person with a vindictive streak.

By the way, I have gone a week now with, "no misspellings" how about that for reaching a goal!

I have a new phone and am thankful that we can now keep the same number when we change phone providers. It will stretch my brain to learn how to use a new gadget and I guess that is good for me.
The young man that took my little sweet pea brought her for an overnight visit since he was going to be away from home, she took a little time to readjust but caught on fast. He has named her PG, Pretty girl.
I enjoyed watching the Alaska Experiment last night and am sorry I am going to miss seeing Ed Begley in Fayetteville today because I love "living with Ed"

The good and bad

Rain again! When I talked about poor customer service at Sprint I was very angry with them. Here is a nice thing, I went to another cell phone store that repairs phones. I was greeted very nicely even though both kids were busy they looked at me, smiled and gave me a nice greeting.
I asked if my phone was repairable and he told me it would be a poor fix but he would charge my battery on his phone then I would have time to back up my contact list and time to get a new phone service. I left my phone with him for a couple of hours and when I came to pick it up, no charge for charging it full. That is customer service, you probably know that I will publicize their store every chance I get.
I also went to the health food store to pick up some oil of oregano because I have been taking lots of it.
Just watched on the Green Planet and saw a bit about a pizza place that uses local foods, delivers in electric cars and heats ovens with wind, what a great thing.

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

What a day, my phone charger quit working so I went to the Sprint store. "we can't do anything because you did not buy phone insurance", what great customer service. I ask the price of the cheapest phone,"$279, unless you want to renew your contract for 2 more years". I just can't stand being ripped off, so I am hunting a new phone service and some way to get some real customer service! All the time the "girl" was talking to me she was looking at her computer and never looked up at me, I wonder if they know there are people begging for jobs.
Meantime I am looking for an integrated physician to take a look at my eye that has some inflammation in it and I need to have a little assurance on what to do with it. I have been neglecting drinking as much fluids as I should so have upped my intake of fluids and increased my intake of oil of wild oregano. Gotta waste my day hunting for services that are difficult to find.

Bright sun today and I will enjoy getting my vitamin D! I enjoyed watching Planet Green's "100 mile challenge" last night and cannot understand how those families can get into the project and be there complaining for 3 weeks and still not research every inch of that 100 mile radius for the foods they love and want.
Lonna helped get the dryer a new vent and I am going to have to have a repair man for the washer. Also she helped me do some thorough cleaning in the utility room, threw away some precious things I have saved, broken appliances, boxes, rusted tools, etc., etc. I am a pack rat, might need it sometime kind.
Gotta bathe some dogs today and make us all clean again, it is like making your bed, you keep doing it over and over and over.

Work, Work, Work

Another sunny day, how about that! The sun looks great today and it will help me do some yard work and clean up after having Felix tear up everything in the front yard. Will also work on my appliances today, if I can use my eye and have good perception to use the screw driver. My dryer has to have a new vent hose because the old one is "holy" and the washer is leaking so have to take the back off an find the leak to see if I can fix it or if I have to call the dreaded repair man with the need for my money. Don't know anyone I can really trust so will have to trust someone I do not know.
Ruby did not welcome Stormy so Stormy is in the kitchen and Ruby in her own bedroom.
Have been working on the "hundred mile challenge" from Planet green to see how much of what I consume I could have if I limited my purchases to only things that have been grown and produced within 100miles, I think it is a great idea and am working on what I would have to give up. Today have to work on my clothes line that Janet pushed down so I can hang out my clothes and not use the dryer. I have so much to do that I had better get busy and talk to you tomorrow.

There is a sun

I am so happy to be sitting in the sunshine. Had frost last night and it was rather cool when we went out this morning.
I am having to wear a black patch on my left eye because something happened to make it rather sensitive to light so the past few days I have been treating it nice. Much better today so will probably go to sunglasses today. I felt that it started with a clogged sinus behind the eye but I have kept hot packs going so have drained all the fluid from it and am much improved. My perception is off a bit so I have a problem working on my computer very long.
Terrible ball game yesterday because the officials had to help Florida win, makes you wonder when they will make the game completely officiated with electronics and lasers. Humans are so dishonest and show bias.
Stormy the outside cat decided it is too cool outdoors so was in the kitchen, this morning I have been trying to get her acquainted with Ruby to see if they will live in the same room.

Felix is gone

Will the sun shine today? That is the question, it is supposed to be sunny but I will believe it when I see it.

Felix is gone, I think the neighbor got tired of him messing in his pristine yard and found a shelter that would take him or just dropped him off in the Bella Vista area so he could be rescued. I miss him and hope he is not killed because big dogs are hard to place. He is a great dog just, too big, too active, young and intact.

Piglet went home yesterday so it is just the home folk today. I will get a chance to go to the bank, the recycling center and maybe even Walmart. My car is full of cardboard so I have to go to the recycling center.

The livestock want in the back yard to eat apples and some green grass so I guess today is their big day. Stormy one of the outdoor/indoor cats left the storage building as soon as she realized Felix was gone and was in the kitchen this morning to greet me and get a treat.

So all is well, if I see the sun!

Will I get vitamin D today?

I am looking east this morning trying to get sight of the sun, I can't find the binoculars so I am looking with my whole body. It does look more encouraging at this time, but will take a while to break through those thick clouds.
This is Northwest Arkansas' biggest weekend of the year, craft fair. The traffic is horrible and some places close because their employees just can't get to work.
In the saga of Felix, the stray, he is still sitting on my steps. If this life is better than the one he had before, it must have been a terrible life.
I have a very swollen pointer finger today, I picked up an apple off the ground to feed to my livestock and there was a yellow jacket on the apple. My but it hurt and 14 hours later it still hurts and is swollen, I did the baking soda, the ice, the potato and everything I could think of but it must run it's course, I guess.

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

If you don't mind I would like some sunshine! I can't stand any more cloudy, rainy days. Can't even dry my clothes outside.
In the ongoing sage, Felix is still here on my front step, wish someone wanted him. I think Piglet will go home today, if her family makes it home. The older dogs will be happy not to have a puppy irritating them all the time. The cats wish Felix would find a home so they can get their lives back to normal in the front yard.

Becoming greener

In the ongoing saga of Felix, the stray, he is still sitting on my front step and the mud is terrible. He has a rut in my yard where he runs back and forth trying to get into the back yard with my other animals and the cats have retreated to the storage shed as they don't like his heavy play.
Signed the contract and paid my down payment on the solar hot water tank, it is a start for becoming green. I have to be a math professor to figure out how my footprint will change, as I recycle my paper and cardboard, hang my clothes to dry and have solar hot water. It takes a lot of effort on my part just to recycle because I have to take my stuff 7 miles away to recycle, wish I could have it picked up curbside. I put everything in my old venture van and when it is too full for me to drive it comfortably, I take a load to the recycle center, that saves gas so my footprint will be smaller. I need a solar trike with a trailer so I won't have to use gas, I guess that is my next project.

The on going saga of Felix

As you probably know, Felix, the stray is still parked on my front step and does not feel that it is urgent for him to move on, I don't know what to do with him.

I had a one night vacation last night, Lonna stayed with my animals and I went to a home in Rogers and stayed with two little dogs, Harry Potter went with me since I never leave home without him. It was nice to sleep with only 2 dogs.

We only have one extra dog, Piglet the doxie mix, so it is almost back to normal here. I can almost see the floor and I can see how badly my house needs cleaning. With 19 dogs I could not see the floor at all.

More news from friends that husbands have lost their job, they are devastated but do not cut their expenses at all, thinking another job will come. They still have their motor cycles, extra car, gym memberships, etc. Their ears are not open for suggestions so I better stop being so preachy and let them live in a dream world.

A day of sports and animals

Felix is still here, does not want to go anywhere, hope we can find someone who wants him.

I got my hay, not at the hour they told me but at least it is in the barn for the livestock to chew on all day.

Very disappointed in the base ball cardinals, can't believe they fell apart and did so poorly. Saw a little of the Suns playing a game of basketball, seem to be back at their old game which I like. Watched a good college football game, saw a little baseball, a little football and a little basketball all in one day. Oh the magic of tv.

Hoping 2 of my extra dogs will go home today and it would make me much happier if I look out and found the stray, Felix, was gone.

Saturday, October 10, 2009

I guess it won't surprise anyone to know that Felix the stray is still on my front steps. He certainly is faithful.
I am now waiting for my hay to be delivered this morning, supposed to be here before 8 am but you can not always trust people to be where and when they say.
Does it take a week to redo floors, I have not heard from Molly and Coco's mom so they are still happily sharing my house. The two dogs that came for the week-end are great but big and fuzzy.
Hope for sunshine today but I did turn on my little electric heater/fireplace yesterday afternoon for the night. Would be nice to dry off a bit and soak in a little of that vitamin D.
My goals are so small that when I check spelling, I celebrate when I have "no misspellings", it does not take much to make me happy!

Rain, Rain, Rain

I AM DROWNING! I can't believe the rain, Felix is still in the front yard. I moved the dog house to the front yard just so he might go inside and not drown. As I sent Lela and Rambo home this morning, he got so exited because he thought we had come out to play.

Because the dogs do not want to get their feet wet, I have pee and poop everywhere, keeps me busy just cleaning up. Rugs and towels everywhere for the ones who do go out. This is Tater, a
foster dog that will never find a home, with me forever.

Have two more coming today so their parents can go to the Texas State Fair, they go every year. Gotta run my relaxation tapes all day and tell myself that most of this mess will pass and we will have sunshine again and can play outdoors.

Taking lots of Zamu this morning.

Zamu

I have decided that I will go ahead and promote Zamu and become an associate of Amazon Herb.
I have found the product to live up to my expectations and even my girls tolerate the taste. If anyone is interested in learning more about Zamu, you can contact me or go the the website: www.freddie.amazonherb.net
It has improved my energy level and sleep even with 19 dogs today, a stray dog howling on my front step, and rainy weather. The rainy weather is really bad for my energy levels.
I do love the baseball playoffs and it does not matter whether you love, basketball, baseball, hockey, or football, it is all on for the next couple of weeks.

Problems, problems, problems

Felix (I named him from Felix Jones who is with the Dallas Cowboys now) the dog is still on my front step, I tried to let him in the yard, he immediately went through the doggie door into the house and lifted his leg all over the house. I let him back out into the yard! That was a mistake! He is still barking and crying wanting in and I just can't do it.
Piglet came to stay with me a week while mom and dad are taking a vacation, she is a doxie mix and very friendly, already found a spot on the pillows on the couch, taking a nap.
Got my renewal of my drivers' license and picked up food for the live stock while I was out, the lady who owns the farm store is having hormone problems, we set her up to go to the compounding pharmacy to get hormone levels tested and will go from there. Her husband has a sinus infection so sent him to get himself some oil of oregano and goji berry juice. I just can't keep from bossing people even when I am buying horse food.
Sent Barky's mom some Zamu, Lonna will drop it off at her house today, she has lots of health problems, but low energy, back pain and weight gain are the most immediate ones.

An Early gift?

I got an early birthday present yesterday, my least favorite breed of dog came to my front step and will not leave. Do you think it is the devil punishing me for something or do you think it might be God checking to see if I truly love dogs? He has not been neutered and if I let him into the yard then it would be my cost to have him fixed, and he is big a "wymarunner" misspelled but that is what they are, runners, I call them a 6 foot 2 year old. He loves me, I tried to walk him down the road but he followed me back. He keeps my dogs barking and I am at my wits end. What do I do?
Gotta renew my drivers license today, will have to comb my hair so my picture will look decent. Penny is going to dog sit for me long enough for me to get the license and get some horse food.

Zamu

I recently found a great energy drink, a great herbal drink from the rain forest and would like to tell anyone who wants to know about it or be healthier just e-mail me: freddiemema@hotmail.com

My goodness, another day without the sun, I may go bonkers, have to take double dose of my Zamu. With 18 dogs in the house and too drizzly outdoors, I am overcome with "love" and attention. Everyone seems happy but me.

I have been doing a lot of reading but hard to concentrate because every dog want attention when I open a book. "Never be sick again" and "Never be fat again" by: Raymond Francis has lots of good info. I am also reading Dr. Stephen Langer's book, "The Riddle of Illness" good info on Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, etc. and concerns the care of your thyroid.

Ruby has adjusted to her new surroundings and the outdoor cats have been seeking shelter so are not on the front porch, Stormy is in the storage shed and Sophie finds her way to the barn and under the deck.

More Dogs!

Got two more dogs early this am, their mom is having her floors redone this week, how nice.

Coco and Molly are anxious to get here and run right into the yard without even having a leash. This afternoon I get two more who are anxious to get here too, their Mom has to help take care of grandchildren while her daughter-in-law is having surgery.

I need to get my drivers license this month because it is due, don't know when I can leave to do it, can't send anyone in my place but maybe I should, my picture is gonna look old, I am afraid.

Can't get much house cleaning done today, too bad, because you know I am anxious to get it done!

Changes

We got together enough money to get a solar hot water system, because they found some used panels. Now I had to move Ruby, the cat, out of the utility room so the workers could get in there and she is not happy. Cats do not like change at all. Also have to upset the dogs because their stairs to the bed blocks the passage to the attic. So I have lots of cleaning and changes to do. The things I hate, cleaning and changes. But gotta get busy, the sun is not shinning today so it is even harder to waste my valuable time cleaning!
